MANDALAS

Mandalas are sacred, circular geometric designs from Hinduism and Buddhism, symbolizing the universe, wholeness, and the journey to enlightenment, used as tools for meditation, prayer, and focusing the mind. Meaning "circle" in Sanskrit, they feature intricate patterns radiating from a center, representing spiritual realms or cosmic unity, guiding practitioners inward towards inner peace and wisdom. They're created in sand, paintings, or even coloring books, symbolizing life's impermanence and the universe's interconnectedness.

In Jungian psychology, mandalas are symbolic representations of the Self and psychic wholeness. Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung viewed them as archetypal images that emerge spontaneously from the unconscious, particularly during periods of emotional distress or personal growth, to help restore inner balance and order to the psyche.
